10 healthy habits for a longer life ? (french words included)

To start with, what makes people think we want to live longer. Live in a CHSLD or a residence where 90% of families don’t visit. Taking a cocktail of drugs to keep you alive but with the consequences on your health. If you’re a freak of natural products and trying to take less drugs, it’s not very kosher. People let themselves give drugs that makes them take more drugs to counteract with the side effects. I would rather have a nice cocktail before supper ! You’re aloud to ask questions on side effects and make a choice for your life in full knowledge of the facts. Have you noticed that in residence for elderly there is no way they could drink a glass of red wine. Why is this situation ? Because you’re old and parked you can’t enjoy life and the benefits of red wine for healthy choices. If you want to take vitamins or healthy products it is almost forbiden, only drugs are kosher. When I was hospitalized I was not aloud to take any natural products, just a cocktail of drugs that evidently I refused. Who would want to look and feel like a zombie. Sometime the cure is a psychologist or a Master Humanist and a life coach or some prayers and meditation.

10 healthy habits according to Mature Life (there is also the 10 commandments)

1- Don’t smoke. Smoking contributes to numerous severe and potentially fatal health problems. Now this debate on smoking makes me very furious, can we address the fact that this world is polluted. If I don’t smoke, smoke get out of my ears…If we legalized  »Pot », there is a fact that it is like a drug, only natural herb growing in the fields. Why would tobacco grow in the fields ? if it’s not good for health. A lot of things are not good for health. Alcohol is a poison. Indians used to smoke the  »calumet de paix »…Most of the time people who smoke are very passionate souls. For instance, I never smoke in my dreams, why ? Figure that one out. Because in my dreams I deal with what I want to deal and not trying to cope with this world of injustice. Yes, maybe smoking (cigarette, pot, cigare, pipe, etc) is a self medication. Of course not everybody needs to smoke to kill the pain of the body and the soul. Smoker paid more than enough taxes, they contribute in a certain way to the economy, creates work. If the government sells now  »pot » legally, I think it’s a question of choice but sometime it’s like you need what you need to try to feel better. Smoking is related to fire. Wood fires have become a debate for pollution with the size of populations. So instead of burning wood for what is called present in our DNA that we like fire, we like the warmth of the light. Light can be warm also. Maybe lack of love makes people smoke. My ex boss used to smoke the pipe, I loved the smell that was a mix of tobacco with rum. Now the cigar is not so easy to breathe. I hate the smell of  »mary-wanna », it smells like a skunk. Tobacco is a natural expectorant and nicotine is great to treat the mind and pain. Like a french guy who said that  »smoking makes me create my toughts ». Everybody makes their own choices. Why is young people addicted to  »vaping ». They might lack love or passion in their homes with family. Maybe it’s something else, everybody is different. I would like to say that I am fed up of judgement on this issue. Like  »pot oil », maybe there should be  »nicotine oil », it’s helps with physical pain.

I would prefer on the number one,  »stop lying », get true and say the truth, this way people would feel better. In my world, prayer and meditation is what comes first, thanking the higher power for all the blessings. I am sure I am not in judgement with the higher power. We have free will.

2-Stay active. I have nothing to say to this. But sometime life is so demanding and you feel a bit depressed about situation you must deal with, that you lack joy of exercising. I am a contemplative person, not so much sports cause I never really had the time to do so or the money to indulge myself into a sport. Other than softball, badminton tennis, swimming and some time at the gym, that I really love to do. In a awesome world, everybody should indulge in sports. It takes money to do so. Not everybody can afford it.

3-Keep learning. Challenge your mind with problem solving activities and puzzles (I hate puzzles). This will reduce the risk of dementia and improve cognition. I have nothing to say against this. But there is a lack of  »God’s knowledge » in this world. No wonder why things are in a bad situation and a lot of injustice. Clean up the drawers of your memories that aren’t needed to make space for important stuff. Sometimes you might want to play games for children, it’s not a sin.

4-Eat healthy. Your diet should be rich in whole grains (we are not birds, it’s very hard to digest whole grain for humans), fruits and vegetables, organic  »por favor », not with the Monsanto or Bayer round up trash in what feeds the planet. I am very sorry for Bayer, but it seems that a lot of people are not happy about this situation. Eliminate trans fat only, all natural fats are healthy. If you deprive your body of fats, you will take some weight, depending on your genetics also. We are all different. If you refer to number 3, this might be the reason why we take to much weight.

5-Get outside. Vitamin D is the most important vitamin in this world. Deficiency makes people depressed and all kind of health problems. Do your homework and find out the benefits. The lack of time to go to the spa or indulge with the sun can make us lack vitamin D. I have been told by a lady (africa) that they don’t have so much depressions in their country. Could it be the effects of the sun ?

6-Sleep well, Seven to eight hours of quality sleep every night is crucial for regulating cell function and healing your body. Don’t forget that a power nap is worth 4 hours of sleep, not more than 20 minutes. If for some reason you might be deprived of sleep for work reason because of this pandemic, please take the time to lie down 20 minutes for 4 hours of sleep once a while but not all the time. I have attended a conference many years ago and the fact is that when you use your body, walking, running or just standing up, the energy in your body reduces greatly because of the effect of gravity. Before 50 years old you don’t seem to be tired as much as when you grow older. Dreaming is part of a healthy life (refer to my article on dreams).

7-Build frienships. A strong social network helps prevent depression, loneliness and cognitive decline. Some friendships (friends on a ship sailing with you) are not kosher, if people are always in negativity, flush them for a while and let them know that you are a positive person. Try to enlighten your life with people who really care for you. Stop thinking that everybody want’s you happy. A lot of people in this world are energy suckers. A very good friend one day said to me  »kelly, you think that everybody is  »beau, fin et gentil, réveille ».

8-Be proactive. Take care of your health, physically and spiritually, as we known that if you are spiritually connected, your health should be strong. We are what we eat also. Try to stop the foods with no vitamins. A hot dog once a while could make you happy but not everyday. It’s a question of gratification and looking for instant joy that can be found otherwise. Take the time in your life to elaborate your food choices and learn to cook with awesome products that are available here in Quebec or Canada. We are very lucky to live in Canada.

9-Bruch and floss. Now this is a very sensitive subject. I usually never have cavities, I clean my teeth but sometime just with water, I never use other toothpaste than natural products or make it yourself toothpaste. Why would you want to eliminate all natural enamel protection. All other toothpaste takes away the natural protection in your mouth. A good cleanup a few times a week with toothpaste is not defended. The best is to have a cleanup at dentist more often for the  »tart » that is not so good, a lot of bacteria. The floss and all other tools available are very good to use everyday. In the old days I guess that the pin needles of our nice Christmas Trees was useful to clean. If you use a products that burns your mouth, it’s not good. Some bacteria fight against other bacteria for a better immune system.

10-Mitigate stress. Stress and anxiety increase the likelihood of heart disease and stroke. Counter these risks with optimism and laughter. There is good stress and bad stress, try to eliminate the bad stress as much as possible. Take action in your life. People who stress you in a bad way, stay away. People that stress you to make better choice are the one’s you should always refer to. Have a shitty day once a while, cause constipation is the worst thing for health. They repeat it and repeat it, the  »microbiota » of your intestine is the secret of a good health. Your mouth, nose are the entrance of bacteria, virus, etc, the human body produce mucus to spit out and for protection. Do you remember older people that used to spit all the time. Drinking clorox as a matter of speaking, obviously will kill you. Being to clean is not healthy, there must be a balance. Yes you must wash your hands often, but the bacteria on your hands is sometime what makes your body create immunity. I have never caught  »flu » and it’s not because I avoided people with the  »flu »…We are made different and try to follow your intuition most of the time, it’s your better higher power.
